Jamie earned a BSFS from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, majoring in economics with a concentration in finance. She also studied at the University of Madrid and at the University of Torreon in Mexico. Her training in diplomacy, political risk analysis, and macroeconomic analysis are deeply ingrained in her work today. While at Georgetown, Jamie worked as a White House intern. Her duties included managing the oil and gas industry clippings file for Special Advisor to the President Lyn Nofziger. A consummate article-clipper and information gatherer today, Jamie relies heavily on data and industry specific information to help craft solutions.
For ten years, Jamie worked at various NYSE member firms as a Series 7 registered representative, selling fixed income securities to institutional investors. Understanding complex and layered needs and designing customized solutions come directly from this experience. Individualization and customer-ization are distinguishing and competitive opportunities not to be overlooked by any business addressing its sustainability.
Jamie is considered by many as an expert in childhood learning and parenting issues. The mother and advocate of a dyslexic child, she researched and implemented the successful radical intervention of her son’s dyslexia, and continues to help navigate his educational journey. Her deep knowledge of reading and learning issues is invaluable in designing systems to help individual learners reach their learning potential in a supportive yet challenging school environment.
